Begin your morning with panoramic views across the Alps from Hitler´s historic mountain retreat, known as the Eagle´s Nest. Then visit the town of Berchtesgaden with your Austria Guide and have time to purchase lunch in one of the typical Bavarian restaurants. In the afternoon we will explore the underground world of a 450 year old salt mine and visit the Königsee, a glacial lake situated in a valley surrounded by mountains. At the Königsee you have the option of taking a boat ride to St Bartholomew’s. This luxury personalised tour is designed to give you the flexibility to pick and choose the venues you would like to visit. This is a fully-guided tour focusing extensively on the Eagle’s Nest, Bavarian mountains, Königsee and the salt mine.

This is a great excursion for anyone who loves incredible scenery and history. Begin your private tour at your hotel or any other destination in the city of Salzburg where you’ll meet up with your Austria Guide and venture through the Bavarian mountains in your luxury minivan. Travel past the Untersberg Mountain and enjoy the stunning landscape of the Alps as you journey to Germany’s Obersalzberg where Hitler’s former mountain retreat is located.
Once we arrive in the Obersalzberg, you and your guide will take a breathtaking bus journey up the Kehlstein road and up through the rock in the original brass elevator which will drop you directly inside the Eagles Nest. Marvel at the beautiful scenery while you listen to your guide’s explanations.
Back down our journey will take us to the village of Berchtesgaden where you will have time to enjoy a typical Bavarian lunch in one of the nearby restaurants.
After a relaxing lunch, choose between exploring the underground world of a 500 year old salt mine or taking a boat ride to St. Bartholomew`s on the Koenigsee a glacial lake situated in a valley surrounded by the Bavarian Alps.
Our return drive back to Salzburg will take you along Koenigsee creek and back to your hotel or any destination in the city of Salzburg.
